    Terms & Conditions

    Beacon Arts Dance School  ยท  Effective Date: 24th July 2025

    Welcome to Beacon Arts Dance School! We are delighted to have you or your child join our dance community. By enrolling, you agree to be bound by the following terms, which are in place to ensure a safe, positive, and professional environment for all.

    1Definitions

    • "The School," "We," "Us," "Our" โ€” Beacon Arts Dance School, its owners, and staff
    • "Student" โ€” The individual, whether child or adult, attending classes
    • "Parent/Guardian" โ€” The person financially responsible for a Student under the age of 18
    • "Adult Student" โ€” A Student aged 18 or over, responsible for their own fees and adherence to these terms
    • "Term" โ€” The period of classes that generally aligns with local academic school terms. Term dates are published on our website

    2Enrolment & Registration

    A completed online registration form is required for each Student before they can attend any class.

    The Parent/Guardian or Adult Student is responsible for ensuring all contact, medical, and emergency information is accurate and kept up to date.

    Class placement for children and teenagers is at the discretion of the School's principal and teaching staff, based on age and ability.

    3Fees & Payment

    3.1 Fee Structure: All class fees are charged on a per-Term basis and are payable in advance of the Term commencing.

    3.2 Invoicing: Invoices will be sent via email approximately two (2) weeks before the start of each Term.

    3.3 Payment Due Date: Full payment is due on or before the date of the first class of the Term.

    3.4 Payment Methods: We accept payment via BACS (bank transfer) or through our online payment portal. Details will be provided on the invoice.

    3.5 Late Payments: A late fee of 10% may be applied to any accounts outstanding more than 14 days after the due date. The School reserves the right to refuse a Student's attendance until outstanding fees are paid.

    3.6 Discounts: Any applicable sibling or multi-class discounts will be automatically applied to your invoice, except for the first transaction where a discount code will be provided.

    3.7 Fee Increases: The School reserves the right to review and increase fees annually. We will provide at least one half-term's notice of any changes.

    3.8 Pricing Errors: The School reserves the right to cancel and refund mispriced goods or services without prior notice.

    4Cancellations, Absences & Refunds

    4.1 General Policy: All Term fees are non-refundable.

    4.2 Student Absence: No refunds or credits will be given for classes missed due to illness, holidays, or any other reason.

    4.3 School Cancellation: If the School must cancel a class due to teacher illness, venue issues, or unforeseen circumstances, we will endeavour to offer a replacement class. If not possible, a credit for that single class will be applied to the following Term's invoice.

    4.4 Leaving the School (Notice Period): To withdraw a Student, you must provide one half-term's written notice via email to steph@beaconarts.dance. If notice is not provided, fees for the subsequent half-term will be due in full regardless of attendance. Notice given part-way through a half-term is effective from the start of the next half-term.

    5Health, Safety & Medical Information

    5.1 Student Responsibility: Dance is a physical activity. Students participate at their own risk. It is the responsibility of the Parent/Guardian or Adult Student to inform the School of any medical condition, injury, or allergy that may affect participation.

    5.2 Physical Contact: Dance teaching involves hands-on correction and physical contact to ensure proper technique and safety. By enrolling, you consent to teachers making appropriate physical contact for this purpose.

    5.3 Sickness: Students must not attend class if they are unwell or have a contagious illness.

    5.4 First Aid: In the event of an emergency, you authorise the School to administer first aid and/or seek professional medical assistance.

    6Studio Conduct & Dress Code

    6.1 Punctuality: Students should arrive a few minutes before class. Late arrivals may be asked to sit out until properly warmed up.

    6.2 Respect: All students are expected to show respect to teachers and fellow dancers. The School reserves the right to dismiss any student displaying disruptive, disrespectful, or dangerous behaviour.

    6.3 Uniform: All students must wear the regulation uniform for their class. Hair must be neatly tied back. No jewellery is to be worn in class. Full uniform details are available on our website.

    6.4 Property: Students are responsible for their own belongings. The School accepts no liability for any lost or damaged items on the premises.

    7Photography & Videography

    7.1 The School may take photographs or videos of classes and performances for use in promotional materials, including on our website, social media, and in print.

    7.2 By agreeing to these terms, you grant consent for you/your child to be included in such media.

    7.3 If you do not wish for you/your child to be featured, inform the School in writing at registration or at any time by emailing steph@beaconarts.dance. Any images will be removed promptly and without question.

    8Liability Waiver

    All reasonable care is taken to ensure the safety and well-being of our students. However, the School cannot be held responsible for any injuries or accidents that may occur, except where the School has been proven to be negligent in its duty of care.

    9Adult Students

    9.1 Adult Students are bound by all clauses within these Terms and Conditions.

    9.2 Adult Students act as their own 'Parent/Guardian' and are solely responsible for ensuring their fees are paid on time.

    9.3 Adult 'Pay-As-You-Go' or 'Class Pass' options may be available and are subject to their own specific conditions, which will be clearly stated at the time of purchase.

    10Data Protection

    10.1 The School is compliant with UK GDPR. Personal information provided during registration will be held securely and used solely for the purposes of running the School (e.g. communication, invoicing, emergency contacts).

    10.2 Your data will never be shared with third parties without your explicit consent. Please see our full Privacy Policy for more information.

    11Changes to These Terms

    The School reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. We will provide at least 30 days' notice of any significant changes via email. The most current version will always be available on our website.

    Acceptance of These Terms

    By completing and submitting the registration form for yourself or on behalf of your child, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
